Buy from a neighbour, not a stranger.

Everything here is from your verified area. Every seller carries a score, in public, that they cannot edit. And if the thing is expensive enough to worry about, send an inspector before a cent moves. The whole conversation happens in the app, so nobody ends up with your number.

From listing to handover

01

Browse your area

Listings are filtered to your verified neighbourhood first, with distance and posting time on every card.

02

Read the seller

The trust score, completed transactions and account age sit on the profile before you write a word.

03

Inspect if it is worth it

Send an inspector for phones, cars, furniture or a flat. They visit the seller and sign a photo report.

04

Reserve, pay, collect

Reserve the item, pay from the wallet, then meet at a safe spot or have it delivered by an Afër courier.

A listing tells you who you are dealing with

The seller sits at the top with a score they cannot edit and the area they were verified in. Under the price, the inspection report if one was ordered.

  • Reserve holds it while you arrange a time in the app
  • Meet locally or send an Afër courier with proof of handover
  • Report and hide are on the listing, not buried in settings

Why it is safer here

A score, not a feeling

Verification, completed deals, ratings, account age and passed inspections roll into one public number.

Inspection before payment

A signed checklist with photos. If the item fails, your payment is refunded automatically.

Chat that stays inside

Numbers are masked. Everything agreed in Afër chat is evidence if a case is opened.

Free between neighbours

No commission on a neighbour-to-neighbour sale. You keep the price you agreed.

Ship it if you prefer

An Afër courier can move the item, with proof of pickup and drop, instead of meeting in person.

Safe meeting spots

Public, well-lit places near you, listed in the app, some with cameras.

Arrange it without giving out your number

Every conversation about a listing stays in Afër chat, next to your support threads. Phone numbers are masked, the meetup you agree is attached to the listing, and anything said there counts as evidence if a case is opened later.

If a deal goes wrong

File a dispute with the reason that fits: not received, not as described, damaged, or fraud. Money already paid stays held while both sides are heard.

How trust works
The report decides most cases

When an item was inspected, a mismatch between the report and the item is decided for the buyer.

Fraud closes accounts

A confirmed fraud sets the trust score to zero and ends the account, not just the listing.

One appeal

If you disagree with the outcome, a second agent reviews it once, with new information.

Questions

Anything not covered here is in support, buyer questions and seller questions kept apart.

Does it cost anything to sell?

No. Listing and selling to a neighbour is free, and there is no commission on the sale.

How much is an inspection?

A small fee shown before you request it, and it varies by category. If the item fails the check, your payment is refunded.

Can I meet somewhere safe?

Yes. The app lists safe meeting spots near you: public places, well lit, some with cameras.

What can I not sell?

Anything the law where you live forbids, plus counterfeits, live animals and services that need a licence you cannot show. The terms list them.
